Some Katy happenings

Even the cast didn't stop the climbing!

Owen and Katy with their medals after the spoon and potato race in Sunnyside Gardens Park Memorial Day weekend. (Yes, we let her race in her cast. Twice.)

Having a picnic and reading to Bitty Baby.

Katy and Sarah sharing some cupcake icing off Katy's shirt.

Playing some music for Tweety Bird in the basement.

Katy doing a little reading on the LIRR.

Katy and Mommy in the garden at the Museum of Modern Art.

It started out like any other day. Katy and I went to a new park where she jumped and ran and made new friends. But during her nap she decided to try to escape from her crib. We spent the next morning in the emergency room where they told us it was just a bruise. So we went out to NJ to visit the grandparents and came home Sunday night to this message: 'we misread the xray and it is broken'. Uh, oh. So back to the emergency room on Monday (who knew ERs were busier on weekdays than weekends during a swine flu scare?) The cast does not bother Katy at all. But it does bother me.

Building a birder

Here is Art trying to point out an osprey to Katy at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. She likes the binoculars as much as she likes the birds.

Our friends Paige and Tetsuya are nice enough to invite us to Hanami every year at Branch Brook Park in beautiful Newark, New Jersey. This year was perfect, the trees were in perfect, snowy bloom and it was a beauriful, warm spring day. Katy had a grand old time running around in her socks all day.
